Kate and Michael’s Kindred Oaks wedding was exactly that.
A Love Worth Celebrating
From day one, Kate and Michael knew exactly what they wanted their wedding day to feel like. Joyful. Celebratory. Surrounded by the people they love most in the world.
There was no pressure to impress. No desire to perform. Simply a wholehearted desire to gather their favorite people and celebrate a love that had found its way to them.
Above all, what made Kate and Michael’s story particularly special was the journey that brought them here. In fact, these two had crossed paths more than once in their younger years before life took them in different directions. Then, in adulthood, they found their way back to each other.
Above all, it was the kind of love story that makes this work feel like a privilege.
The Setting-A Kindred Oaks Wedding in Georgetown
A Kindred Oaks wedding provides the perfect backdrop for a celebration of this magnitude. With beautiful oak trees and warm indoor spaces, Kindred Oaks never needs much help to feel stunning. The venue set the tone for everything that followed — relaxed, elegant, and completely genuine.
The March timing was ideal. Georgetown in late March is at its most beautiful. Warm, comfortable, and bathed in that golden afternoon light photographers dream about.
The Details that Made This Kindred Oaks Wedding Special
Every wedding has its details — the carefully chosen elements that come together to create a cohesive, intentional celebration. Kate and Michael’s day was no exception.
Florals by Zuzu’s Petals Austin created lush, warm, celebratory florals that captured the joyful spirit of the day perfectly. From the ceremony florals to the reception table arrangements, every bloom felt intentional and beautifully considered.
Michelle’s Patisserie created a beautiful wedding cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful. There is something so special about a wedding cake that is created specific to the design the bride wants. Michelle’s cakes taste as extraordinary as they look. And indeed, Michelle’s Patisserie delivers just that on a regular basis!
PEJ Events brought a reception dinner that will always be remembered. Not only was the food wonderful but the staff made sure every guest was very well taken care of throughout the evening. Their service is not just about great food, its about guest experience and PEJ Events is always on top of that game!
Hill Country Events has been a favorite of ours for 20 years! The bar staff managed the bar service with the warmth and proficiency this celebration deserved. When a bar is well-run it keeps the reception flowing in a way this celebration deserved. A well-run bar keeps a reception flowing beautifully — and Hill Country Events never fails to deliver.
Big City Farm has the CUTEST employees. They were without question a big attraction at this event — the bride was over the moon that these honorary guests were able to make her wedding day so special. This was a detail that had guests talking, laughing, and capturing memories the entire cocktail hour — perfectly reflecting the spirit of the day.
The Music, the Movement, and the Magic
Ellis Entertainment was our emcee and DJ for the evening. If you have never attended an event that Stephen has DJ’d, you are missing out! He is theatrical, engaging and connects to every guests in the room. He keeps the energy exactly where it needs to be and did not under-deliver at this event! A great DJ changes the reception-from the first song to the last dance of the night. And Stephen Ellis is a great DJ.
Fly Rides provided a unique take on shuttle transportation for guests. Upscale school bus type party busses were provided for guest transportation from their hotel to the wedding venue. Overall, they are a dependable company delivering a unique service to any kind of event.
Urban Betty was our hair and makeup vendor. The results were absolutely stunning! Kate was radiant, polished and beautiful. This only made the joy she exuded even more apparent.
Kati Maxwell Photography is a talented wedding photographer that captures every moment of a wedding day with sensitivity and lots of skill . Kati finds the genuine emotion in every moment and her photos preserve the memories of the moment, beautifully. Kate and Michael’s wedding gave her a lot to work with as you can see by the photos we have posted here.
Adam Grumbo Films is an outstanding wedding videographer. He personally captured the day on film — creating something Kate and Michael will treasure for a lifetime. There is such magic in being able to relive your wedding day in film. The moments that pass too quickly, are all recapped for you on video for you to re-watch as often as you like.
The Moment We Will Never Forget
There is a moment in every wedding that gives me cause to pause and reflect on why we do the work we do.
For Kate and Michael’s wedding, that moment came during the welcome toasts.
Kate had requested a moment to speak directly to Mike during toasts. What followed was a story authored by the Bride that detailed the story of Kate and Mike in a way that only she could have delivered. The story was told with laughter, tears and a feeling of nostalgia. Her words were thoughtful and full of emotion. This was a moment that reminds people that when a loving relationship is meant to be, it will happen when it is supposed to. It also was a reminder that getting married is not just a celebration, it is a declaration of love and devotion. This truly was a moment in time that belonged entirely to the two of them, and also to anyone and everyone who has ever believed in love.
This moment captured joy, authenticity and the emotion of a love worth every step of the journey.
