Leah is a Sports Anchor and Matt is a Filmmaker. They live out of stat but chose to have their wedding in Liberty Hill, TX because it was close to family and friends. They loved the layout of Highpointe Estate and the fact that it had both indoor – outdoor ceremony options. The couple chose to be married in the venues beautiful Chapel surrounded by their family and friends.
April in Texas can be dicey in terms of the weather. I’ve seen April weddings that had snow and April’s that were blazing hot. Leah and Matt were blessed with absolutely perfect weather. Their guests were able to enjoy cocktail hour outside on the patio. There was a nice little breeze blowing and along with the ceiling fans and cold drinks from the bar everyone kept cool while waiting a short time for the reception.
I really loved the fact that Leah wanted to add personal touches to her wedding that would be meaningful to both Matt and her parents. For Matt, she had a groom’s cake created that showed his love of the camera by putting photos that Matt had taken on the cake-they were really amazing. The top of the cake had a camera on it along with strap and all and Matt was so surprised!
Another sweet personal detail was a memory collage that Leah made for her mom. Matt and Leah got married on her parents anniversary, which is special in itself. The collage had things from her parent’s wedding day along with engagement photos of the couple. Leah gave this to her mom when they were getting ready for first looks in the bridal room. It was such a sweet moment between mother and daughter.
The wedding color palette was light blue, greens and whites. Very classic and sleek, with lots of candlelight to add a romantic and inviting feel to the space. We built the couples timeline with their first dance being right after they were introed into the reception. This allowed them to dance while all eyes were on them, and even their dance was a very special moment in my opinion-so sweet and full of joy.
Remember I mentioned Leah’s desire to make things special for the people she loves? She knocked that out of the park by having a special dance for her parents during the reception. The DJ at her parent’s wedding played the wrong first dance song. They had no choice but to go with it at that time. Leah worked with her DJ and they orchestrated a second First Dance for her parents to the right song this time. My absolute favorite moment of this wonderful day.
The personal details of this don’t end here. In anticipation of their guests working up a hunger on the dance floor, the couple brought in pizza as a late night snack and walked around serving guests slices of pizza from the pizza boxes. They also had a moment to sit down for the first time in hours, and enjoyed a slice on the settee in the foyer right before their sparkler send off. This touch was enjoyed by all and made the night even more memorable to all who attended.
Leah and her mom found us through the Highpointe preferred vendors list, and then took a look at our social media and loved the work we have done with past couples. We are so happy and honored that they chose us out of many other planners, to assist them in making Matt and Leah’s day one that holds memories to last a lifetime.
