The Austin area is diverse with old and new blending together, creating quite a few stunning venues to hold your wedding. I am a true Austinite, born and raised in South Austin. I’ve seen the city morph from the town I knew as a child, to the eclectic mecca for many that it has become. All that to say, there are a few Austin landmarks that I never thought would become beautiful modern wedding venues. I hope the list below provides you with some hidden gems within our fair city.
800 Congress is located on the historic Congress Avenue, lots of old Austin around that area. I consider the venue to be urban-contemporary, with views of the Paramount Theater and the Capitol building. The space provides couples the opportunity to design an event that uniquely fits their personalities and create an aesthetic that is sure to leave their guests in awe. I love the exposed brick walls and concrete floors, high ceilings and visible duct work. There is ample space to have a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at one site and they have their own catering and bar service.

This is one of the newer modern venues in the thriving area of East Austin. The venue opened in March 2024. Assembly Hall used to be a Mexican bakery and restaurant that had been used for office space in the community when the bakery closed. The Assembly Hall was built to complement Fair Market which is located at this same address. It’s modern design and spacious layout can accommodate a variety of wedding styles from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations. There are rooms with full baths that can be used for getting ready rooms or green rooms for bands and other entertainers. The venue can adapt to a traditional ceremony or a contemporary reception allowing you to customize every aspect of your day from layout, to decor and catering options.

Brazos Hall is located in the heart of downtown Austin. What once was a turn of the century warehouse, is now a stunning two story event venue that seamlessly fuses history and modernity. Entering into the building you see 100 year old pine floors that have been restored, exposed steel beams and brick exteriors that evoke a timeless charm to the entry. The round top windows let natural light in creating a warm, inviting feel. The second floor is a rooftop deck with amazing views of the downtown skyline. Brazos Hall has versatility and flexibility that allows each event to be customized to every detail you envision for your wedding day.

This trapezoidal shaped chapel is a perfect option for couples looking for an intimate, modern place to celebrate their vows. The concrete building provides a coolness to those that are seated inside and lends itself to the modern feel of the space. The artfully made wooden bench seating accommodates up to 30 people inside the chapel, while groups up to 125 can expand to the grass lawn behind the chapel or the gravel patio in front of the chapel. There are changing rooms inside the bathhouse located just a few feet from the chapel providing a private space for both brides and grooms to get prepared for the ceremony. The chapel is offered by the hour with a 3-hour maximum. I have coordinated many weddings at this beautiful chapel, and find it more beautiful each time I have the honor of working there.

I am so intrigued by this venue, the fact that it was once a train station located in East Austin and is now this beautiful wedding venue just blows me away. Springdale Station is located on 1 acre with over 250 parking spaces, which in and of itself is rare in Austin. There are lots of indoor and outdoor spaces as well as a photo-op around every corner. The venue has two dressing suites, custom lighting and bar options, and over 4300 feet of open indoor space. Springdale Station is a flexible venue with it’s vibrant colors and access to local vendors and artists that can assist every couple with the fine details to make the space their own.

The Addison Grove is located between Downtown Austin and Dripping Springs. The venue sits on a gorgeous property that has several ceremony spots both indoor and outdoor. Picture a ceremony under the beautiful oak tress or with the pond as a beautiful backdrop. There is a covered patio perfect for your cocktail hour where guests can take in the beautiful Texas wildflowers and visit with the venue’s Longhorns. The venue provides complimentary lawn games for guest to enjoy while they are waiting for dinner to start.
I love the barn at this venue, it is both rustic and modern, has beautiful chandeliers hanging from large overhead beams. The barn also has rolling glass doors that can be opened to allow the outside in or vice versa, making this a perfect spot for dinner with your guests. You can also opt to have dinner outside on the lawn under the twinkle lights. There is an 1800 sq foot prep cottage where getting ready for the celebration takes place. This is a venue you don’t want to overlook!

The Arlo is conveniently nestled between Austin and Dripping Springs. The venue has done an exquisite job of blending timeless charm with modern spaces, offering amazing scenic views of the Texas hill country. The brides room is the cutest, with bright white decor and a huge island for at least twelve people to get hair and makeup done. The groom and groomsmen have a 1500 square foot cottage to get ready in, all to themselves. The venue offers several outdoor ceremony options in addition to Storie Hall which is the beautiful indoor ceremony option. This is a stunning venue, well worth the drive. We were honored to plan and coordinate a wedding for a dear friends sister here. It’s an absolutely stunning venue.

The land that the Plant at Kyle is built on was once part of the Kuykendall Ranch. The Plant was a shed at the Alamo Cement Plant in San Antonio, Texas which was disassembled, moved, and reassembled at it’s current location. This is a very cool property with lots to offer couples looking for a unique place to celebrate their wedding. It has onsite lodging for a few guests or wedding party and lots of versatile spaces to create your unique one of a kind wedding day. The venue provides a flexible entrance level floor plan, well appointed kitchen for caterer staging, nine large farm tables and parking for more than 100 cars.

This breathtaking venue is another beautiful example of how old meets new and then becomes modern. This versatile space began as an 8 room home for a local sheriff’s family. It changed hands to the sheriff’s son who added additional rooms and dubbed the building the Texas Hotel. It changed hands twice after this and the second owner opened a law firm in the building until the current owners purchased the property and created Wish Well House.
The original wood flooring in the house is the first thing you see as you enter the lounge area. Dramatic white walls and beautiful floor to ceiling windows make the space a stunning blank slate for any couples dream wedding. The stunning wall paper throughout offers the perfect photo backdrop for first looks, bride and groom portraits and grand entrances. The bride and grooms changing rooms overlook the charming town square and the stunning courtyard is the perfect location to take the dancing outside on those cool Texas evenings. I love working at this venue, it’s beautiful and makes for many wonderful memories!
