We have had the pleasure of working with Ryan and Lindsay of Main Squeeze Photography a few times. They are so much fun to be around, lively and full of laughter. We recently had a photo session with them and absolutely loved the images!
We had a fun Q&A session with them and have included it in this blog. I’ve also included a few photos from our shoot with them for context, and because we loved them so much!
Q: Give us a little background about how you fell into or chose to get into wedding photography.
A: It’s no secret—we are obsessed with our dog, Decker! Back in early 2017, we bought a camera to capture all of our adventures with him, and we quickly fell in love with the art of photography. We started sharing our photos on social media, and before we knew it, friends, family, and even coworkers began to take notice!
After a few months of photographing families, we were asked to shoot our first wedding—just one month before OUR own wedding. The nerves were real, but honestly, we had the best time ever! By the end of that day, we knew we could totally see ourselves doing this full-time in the future.
Fast forward a few years, and we were both able to leave behind our jobs as a nurse and teacher to focus fully on our photography business. Every day, we pinch ourselves—getting to work together, doing what we love, is truly a dream come true. Plus, we get to spend way more time with Decker, and that’s the cherry on top!
Q: What would you consider your photography style to be?
A: We understand that our couples truly value us capturing the candid moments that naturally unfold on their wedding day. At the same time, we know some people can feel a bit nervous about being photographed—especially with the natural jitters of a wedding day! That’s where we come in. We’re here to provide light direction when needed, helping you feel comfortable and confident. We know when to step back and blend into the background as a ‘fly on the wall’, and we also know when to step in with a bit more guidance to bring out those perfect moments.
When it comes to editing, we aim to keep things classic. Editing styles can range from “bright and airy” to “dark and moody,” but we prefer to keep colors and scenes as close to real life as possible—just enhanced. We describe our style as “true to life” color. Of course, we’ll soften your skin and remove any obvious blemishes, but only in a way that makes sure you still look like YOU (and not some AI-generated version of yourself, haha!).
Q: What’s your favorite part of a wedding day?
A: One of our absolute favorite moments of a wedding day is right after the couple has shared their first kiss and turns to face their friends and family for the first time as newlyweds. There’s so much pure joy and excitement in that moment—it’s electric! The couple is beaming, everyone is cheering, and you can just feel the love and happiness radiating all around. As they walk back down the aisle, it’s like they’re in their own little world, soaking in the reality of just getting married. Capturing that raw, unscripted happiness is what makes it so special!
Q: Do you have a “the craziest thing happened at my wedding today” story to share?
A: Meet us for a drink and we’ll tell ya!
Q: Fun Facts About Yourself:
A: Does anyone else panic that they aren’t a fun person when they’re asked to describe a fun fact about themselves lol!? Ryan’s go-to is that he was in Spy Kids (yes, really). Lindsay can name any Taylor Swift song within 3 seconds of it playing. Such talent, right?
Q: Favorite TV Show:
A: This is like asking to choose a favorite child! While we anxiously wait for season 2 of Nobody Wants This, we will continue to rewatch New Girl, Ted Lasso, and Schitt’s Creek. Currently we’re on the last season of Gilmore Girls!
Q: Favorite Book:
A: Ryan is a Harry Potter nerd and Lindsay loves any thriller!
Q: Favorite Color(s):
A: Ryan- blue, Lindsay- dark green, blue, it changes daily 🙂
Q: Favorite Date Night Activity:
A: anything that we can bring Decker to!
Q: Do you have any advice to give current/future brides (about wedding photos or anything else wedding or life related)?
We’ve been through the wedding planning process ourselves, so we totally get how overwhelming it can feel at times. But trust us, your wedding day will be one of the best days of your life, and you’ll cherish every moment! One tip we can’t recommend enough is hiring a photographer who always works with a second shooter. Weddings are full of unexpected moments, and having two photographers means every important detail is captured—from the big moments to the little ones that make your day so special. It’s a game-changer when it comes to making sure nothing is missed!
Here are a few of our very favorite shots from the shoot we had with Main Squeeze Photography at Michelle’s Patisserie in Liberty Hill! I am not a fan of being in front of the camera, but Ryan and Lindsay put us at ease immediately and got some great photos of us!
